Meet Your Dentist: Dr. Matthew Ronconi

Dr. Matthew Ronconi grew up in Mountain View, CA, and graduated with honors from UC Davis. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry, then completed a three-year Orthodontic Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City (the teaching hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine), where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.

Now a member of the Salinas community, Dr. Ronconi has built a reputation that reaches well beyond his own office. He was voted Best Orthodontist by Monterey County Weekly for four consecutive years (2023 to 2026). In 2025, he was named Outstanding Dentist of the Year by the Monterey Bay Dental Society. He currently serves as President of the Monterey Bay Dental Society, a position he also held in 2022.

Outside the practice, Dr. Ronconi serves on the board of Set Free Monterey Bay, supporting survivors of sex trafficking, and volunteers training puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. When he isn’t treating patients, he’s playing competitive beach volleyball, the same hands-on approach he brings to every case in the chair.

Clinical Team

The clinical team at Matthew Ronconi Orthodontics holds the designation of Registered Dental Assistant, a certification awarded by the state of California only after advanced training and rigorous testing. Every team member brings over ten years of experience in orthodontics, backed by ongoing continuing education to stay current with the field.

Front Office Team

The front office team supports every visit with the same level of care, from scheduling to insurance questions, and regular training keeps them sharp on both. Patients often point to the team’s friendly, helpful approach as one of the reasons they keep coming back.
