Education and Orthodontic Training

Dr. Ronconi grew up in Mountain View, CA, and earned his B.S. with honors from UC Davis. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry.

He then completed a three-year orthodontic residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, the teaching hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident in his final year. That specialty training is what separates an orthodontist from a general dentist: years of focused study on how teeth and jaws move, grow and settle into a healthy bite.

How Dr. Ronconi Approaches Your Treatment

Dr. Ronconi runs a private practice by choice. Your treatment is never handed off to a rotating group of doctors. He personally reviews and tracks your progress at each appointment, so adjustments are made by the person who knows your case best.

He treats patients of every age, from a child’s first orthodontic evaluation to adults who have waited years to fix their smile. Most treatment plans use one of two options:

He works alongside a clinical team of Registered Dental Assistants, each with more than ten years of orthodontic experience. Care is available in English and Spanish.

Serving the Monterey Bay Dental Community

Dr. Ronconi is the current President of the Monterey Bay Dental Society, a role he also held in 2022. The society connects dentists and specialists across the Monterey Bay area, and his leadership there keeps him close to the general dentists who refer patients to Salinas for orthodontic care.

Outside the Office

Dr. Ronconi serves on the board of Set Free Monterey Bay, which supports survivors of sex trafficking. He also volunteers as a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind. When he isn’t treating patients, you will likely find him playing competitive beach volleyball.
